Hi everyone! Today I'm doing a "should you read" style review for the West African-inspired fantasy Son of the Storm by Suyi Davies Okungbowa. This was a heavily anticipated releases from 2021 with minimal chatter about the book after it came out. Curious to know why or if it's worth picking up? I think this book has its readers out there, but it might not work for everyone. Keywords for me on this book were: African influence, imperialism, secret history, caste system, multi pov, secrets, and forbidden magic.
