This is budget lab gear that will be at home on any workbench but sould you buy a solder reflow hot-plate is entirely dependent on your use case. This hotplate solder reflow works just fine for basic repairs and SMD assembly. By pre-heating the circuit board you can avoid the chances of thermal shock which stresses joints causing cracks leading to failures later on.
