During the Covid pandemic, the government injected a staggering £450 billion into the economy through Quantitative Easing (QE). This controversial monetary policy lead to rising inflation, higher mortgage costs and economic instability. Rupert Lowe, Reform MP for Great Yarmouth, recently introduced a Ten Minute Rule bill trying to ban it. But what exactly is QE and when did it become so popular?
