Nearly 90,000 people have signed a petition raising concerns about New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s participation in the 25th anniversary commemoration of September 11th.
9/11 survivor Jennifer Glass joins Michael Smerconish to explain her concerns — but the conversation reveals an important distinction: she isn’t arguing Mamdani should be barred from attending. She wants limits on his role to keep the ceremony from becoming political.
Smerconish isn’t convinced those guardrails are necessary. His view: whatever role previous mayors Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg and Bill de Blasio played, Mamdani should be allowed to play — “no more, no less.”
