I’ve committed to hiking the 46-mile Limestone Way in April over two days, and this was meant to be a “gentle” prep walk. Instead, it turned into a gear test…

I brought along a new Fire-Maple Torch budget stove to try out, and straight away I wasn’t convinced. The built-in igniter looks handy on paper, but I’m not sure I’d want to rely on it for a multi-day hike.

So in this video:
– I put some miles in
– Compare the Torch to my trusty BRS stove
– Cook up a questionable pot pasta on a bench
– And try to decide if this stove earns a place on my Limestone Way kit list

The hike is in aid of the British Heart Foundation ❤️
