Disabling HPET is one of those Windows “FPS tweaks” that keeps coming back.
Some guides tell you to disable it in Device Manager, some tell you to change BIOS settings, and others give you random bcdedit commands. The problem is that those are not all the same thing, and on modern Windows they usually do not give you the performance improvement people claim.
