With one of my favorite YouTubers Jared Dines, after coming out of a month long hiatus, basically uploading all the songs from his upcoming EP “The Dark” to his YouTube channel, despite I and hundreds to thousands of people preordering physical copies (since I couldn’t do so digitally), this got me thinking about the patterns and thought processes that come with releasing singles as well as the purposes of releasing singles, and why it doesn’t make sense for a band or artist to make their entire album/EP all singles- especially before the album/EP even is released.
