This was a great project to be a part of. I've wanted to try this Shou Sugi Ban mixed with glow technique for a long time but it wouldn't work on a ring so these knives were perfect! I essentially burned the wood until it cracked and turned charcoal black, then I filled all of the cracks with blue glow powder and cast a clear layer of resin over the top.
