What is happening here? Large moth larvae have been underground possibly for some years. When it has been raining and the ground becomes soft and they are ready to metamorphose from the chrysalis into a large moth during the night. As these newly emerging moths make their way though the leaf litter, they may pass by the holes of the Arbanitis villosus (Trapdoor Spider-that actually doesn't build a door!). If this happens then........................
