Anyone who has ever used "friction shocks" know they are really just springs with no damping at all. Well, I have now designed the first friction shock that actually dampens. The damping is tuneable by changing the length of a silicone tube.
The right shock wasn't lubed properly when I made the first drop tests but it loosened up and became super smooth right after.
