Of the various readings of this story in English I found on youtube, I think this one is the least worst:

I just realized I forgot to even discuss perhaps the greatest weird lottery story of them all: "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, but fortunately Greg @anotherbibliophilereads has that covered as part of his best 20th Century short stories series.. I mentioned DARK CITY (1998) directed by Alex Proyas and the work of Phillip K. Dick
I FORGOT to mention Franz Kafka a likely influence on all of the above and to whom Borges makes a punning reference in the story.
