Introduced in the late 1960s, the Kodak Carousel Dissolve Control allowed slides to be transitioned smoothly rather by alternately fading the lamps on two projectors. In common with most Kodak products of this era, this effect was accomplished via a counterintuitive but extremely clever mechanism.
