PM-R TV | Shooting Football 4K Video with Sony a1 & Sony 400GM, and the still frame grabs that are possible @PMRTV | Uploaded 2 years ago | Updated 3 hours ago
This is my second game of the season trying to figure out how to make 4K video of American football and then seeing how good I can get still frame grabs from that footage after the fact. In my first video, I tried using back button focus but the camera always forces you into AF-S when you do that, so this game, I let the camera AF using Zone focus. Neither is the correct solution. At the end of the video clips, I put some un-cropped still frame grabs that I only adjusted exposure on--so no topaz or other sharpening post. The results are pretty stunning. If I could figure out how to get the same AF tracking that I get on the a1 for stills to work for video, I think I'd stop shooting stills altogether. It's really something to say!!! I'd like to hear your comments, suggestions, and questions in the comments below, so please, let's figure this out together. One thing is for certain, touch AF does NOT work for the 400GM and 600GM on a monopod of moving action. There is no way that is going to work. I'm hungry to find a solution!
