Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 review — open ear running headphones tested in the real world at Main Beach, along the Nerang River and in the gym, with music playing the whole time and my ears still completely open.
Tested the way Andrew Hough does it — out and about on the Gold Coast, not sitting in a studio. Running on sand, walking the Esplanade near traffic and bikes, taking calls in beach wind, training with weights, and living with them all day.
This is not a studio review. This is a real world open ear headphone test for anyone looking for running headphones, bone conduction headphones, gym headphones, cycling headphones, or open ear earbuds that let you hear what is going on around you.

The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 use DualPitch technology — a bone conduction driver handling mids and vocals paired with an open ear air conduction bass driver, which is the big upgrade over previous bone conduction models that always sounded thin. You get a flexible nickel titanium alloy frame that wraps around the back of your head, ergonomic ear hooks, IP55 sweat and water resistance, dual noise cancelling microphones with wind resistance for calls, Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint pairing, USB-C charging, up to 12 hours of battery life, and a 5 minute quick charge that gives you around 2.5 hours of playback. Nothing goes inside your ears, so there is no plugged up pressure, no ear fatigue and no blocked ear feeling on long sessions — just music, podcasts and calls sitting alongside the world instead of shutting it out.
If you are searching for Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 review, open ear running headphones, best bone conduction headphones 2026, best running headphones Australia, headphones that let you hear traffic, gym headphones that stay put, open ear headphones vs earbuds, sweatproof running headphones, headphones for cycling and walking, bone conduction sound quality test, or Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 battery life, this real world test should help you decide.
