Today sucked. I am in between finals so I wanted to take a trip and do some Hoosier foaming. What a mistake... I woke my fat ass up at 5:30 AM, had the shits, and almost missed my 6:38 from Lisle to the city. I did get some really cool city shots, with the fog and everything. At 8:40 my South Shore for Hammond departed Millennium. I was under the impression that the South Shore gave student discounts, but hey they don't! I arrived in Hammond over 5 minutes early, which was strange, but I guess that's how they work. So I walked around Hammond, and randomly I hear, "The Next Westbound is approaching your station." So I was thinking, ok it'll stop at the station and I can set up, but nope, it's an express. After walking around the run down area, numerous horns from the NS and IHB line made their way up to the station. I wish I was at State Line junction, instead of Hammond Station, because no joke, I had to have heard atleast 10 different NS horns in the hour I was there. Two CSX trains run the main, then my south shore came and I went back to the city. I took lots of footage from the train but uploaded the interesting parts. After getting back to Lisle I drove around, and wound up in B-ville / Franklin Park. I got a picture of a very rare SOO SD60M, but it was a grab shot, and my camera was on the B&W setting, didn't know that. I then went to Colins house and chilled for a while. 11 hours I was out side, 8:30 of that I was trying to see trains. In total, I only shot 2 train pictures. Then I get home only to find construction on a sewer main going on literally right in front of my house. Everything smelled horrible! This went on until 11 PM when they re-paved the road, even though you still can't really drive on it since it's so rough. ugh... What a shitty day.
