On May 29, Shinedown kicked off the summer with their new album EI8HT. Anchored by the lead single, last year’s “Dance, Kid, Dance,” as well new songs like “Young Again,” the album delivers a massive 18 tracks.
Unlike many of their rock peers who started in the 2000s, Shinedown have more than a few old hits to play for audiences. They’ve maintained a steady flow of charting singles since their debut Leave a Whisper back in 2003.
Before the album’s release, Jordan Edwards talked to frontman Brent Smith about the making of EI8HT and importance of bassist and producer/engineer Eric Bass to the group longevity.
