Shin Seki Yori is a realistic "What if" scenario depicting the reality of psychic powers on a well developed society. The story covers three chapters of the main character's life, at ages: 12, 14, and 26. As the story progresses, you witness the horrid past of the village, strict laws to prevent disaster, and the devastating toll that psychic powers have on their users.
Shin Sekai Yori is Something Special. I discovered this anime back in 2019 via Spotify radio playing "Wareta Ringo", the first ending song of the show. From there I have watched this show, rewatched this show, and rewatched this show again, only to solidify it as one of my all time favorites. All the while the show continues to fall into obscurity right before my very eyes. I hope that anyone watching this video truly gives the show a chance to tell one of the most unique takes that the sci-fi genre has to offer.
Editor's note: Sorry for the delay on this video. I've become increasingly picky with my scripts because I know my writing is stronger than my editing skills. Most of the delays came from school getting in the way, but I am also addicted to playing Splatoon so I can't pin the delay all on school.
I also apologize for the long winded intro. In an attempt to write an interesting opener , my ADHD grabbed a hold of the video for a solid 8 minutes. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless even if my opinion is a little out there (feel free to disagree). That being said, I'll leave chapters in case you'd like to skip any portion of the video.
