I’ve been in the beauty industry for 14 years, and over time, I’ve learned that wisdom and discernment are key when making decisions—especially in business. In the beginning, I used to struggle with letting my flesh drive my choices. Decisions made out of scarcity, lack, or fear would leave me feeling stuck. But when I decided to fully let God guide my decision-making, everything shifted. The truth is, when you make decisions based on faith, knowing God has the final say, it just hits different. Proverbs 3:13 says, “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.” Wisdom gives us the ability to see things from a broader perspective, to step back and ask, "What is God doing in this situation?"But wisdom without discernment isn’t enough. We also need to seek His direction in knowing what to do with that wisdom. Hebrews 5:14 says, “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”For me, discernment has been the difference between making decisions from a place of faith versus fear. Instead of reacting out of insecurity or pressure, I seek God’s direction.
