WHAT IS Shift RPG?
Shift RPG is an all-ages tabletop roleplaying game created by Hit Point Press, built around simplicity, collaboration, and fast-paced creativity. It’s designed to let players and game masters (GMs) build and explore worlds together without the heavy rulebooks typical of traditional RPGs.

Shift uses a unique “Shift Dice Mechanic” where a character’s traits—representing skills, gear, or even allies—are connected to different dice sizes ranging from d4 to d12. The smaller the die, the greater the chance of success, allowing intuitive and fluid gameplay. Rolling the die’s highest number, however, makes that trait less reliable, adding dynamic tension and narrative flow to the system.

Shift emphasizes storytelling freedom over mechanics, encouraging groups to tailor their own settings, tones, and characters. Hit Point Press supports community creation through an Open Gaming License, allowing fans to publish and share their own content freely.

WHAT IS KICKSTARTER?
Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform that allows creators and companies to raise funding for new and innovative products and ideas. You are not charged for your pledge if the project fails to meet its funding goal. Note that Kickstarter is not a store—you are investing in the development of a product, and that comes with risks of failure.

Due to the aforementioned risks of Kickstarter, The Gallant Goblin screens all Kickstarter projects prior to reviewing them on our channel. This applies to both general reviews and reviews sponsored by the company running the Kickstarter. We only review Kickstarters that meet our criteria of:

1) creating a product we believe is of interest to our community
2) being a project from either a company with a good Kickstarter track record or that promises a product that looks to have a low risk of failure

The video was paid for by the creators of the Kickstarter project, but the Gallant Goblin retained editorial control. The video was screened by the creators for factual errors before being released.
