ShenSonic is an old fangame inspired by the story and setting of Shenmue and characters from the Sonic Universe.
......
The first version was made by Simon Elo "SimSonic" of Magitek Soft all the way back in 2001, with updates up until 2004 with version 1.4 wich is the one shown here. It's your typical fan project of that era but it's virtually never mentioned anywhere, making it almost feel like it's been lost forever.
The game contains the whole of Shenmue from what I remember and every major cutscene and story point is portrayed somehow. Due to the nature of the game there are a lot of glitches and the controls and interface are somewhat messy.
I couldn't figure out how to get into the Tattoo Parlor and advance the story any further and a little later the game got stuck in Manpukuken Ramen after talking to Junko.
Footage had to be zoomed in quite a lot while editing since the game can only run in a window with a cute little resolution of 520 x 340. The result is a somewhat soft and fuzzy image but I think that's better than looking at a tiny window.
You can still download the game here:
