The ball is not very likely to go in as there is only a single winning pocket and the ball has to jump in from the sides. Combine this with having to hit it three times in a row and you have a truly terrifying task.
I'm glad I can finally knock this of my "things to accomplish" list. And for once I was actually very lucky! It only took 149 attempts, with 18 single hits and only 2 double hits on the way.
