It was a scene straight out of an X-Files episode: An unidentified flying object seen in the clear night sky, with police switchboards flooded by callers reporting a light aircraft skimming rooftops, seemingly on a collision course with the hills west of Sheffield. RAF jets tore through the sky as if in pursuit of something, and finally, a deafening explosion echoed across the moors, sending gamekeepers rushing from their secluded cottage on a Yorkshire moor.
Did a UFO crash or explode above the Howden Moors, near the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire Peak District border, just after 10 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 1997, as some have claimed?
Has evidence of this "crash" been deliberately concealed by the authorities ever since? Is there an ongoing massive cover-up to keep the truth from the public?

The operation lasted 15 hours and cost over £50,000.
