In 1973, witnesses in the Attercliffe area of Sheffield reported encounters with a towering black humanoid seen moving through the streets at night. One young couple claimed the enormous shadow-like figure emerged from an alleyway with glowing red eyes before one witness felt a violent blow to his back and found a pitchfork on the ground. In a separate report, an elderly woman described seeing a similar creature making huge leaps across rooftops, descending vertically down the wall of a public house, and vanishing into a scrapyard.

A dark industrial street. Burning red eyes. A figure too large to be human. This remains one of Sheffield’s strangest recorded humanoid encounters.
