Understand the core sheet-metal features that power intelligent, manufacturable designs in BricsCAD Mechanical.

This lesson introduces sheet metal design concepts, including flanges, bends, junctions, lofted bends, reliefs, form features, and beads, explaining how these features preserve design intent and maintain critical geometric relationships.

Learn how to create base and edge flanges with SMFLANGE and SMFLANGEEDGE, generate sheet metal parts with SMEXTRUDE and SMLOFT, and convert hard edges into bends or junctions using SMBEND and SMJUNCTION.

The lesson also covers automatic and manual relief creation, management of lofted bends and sheet metal features in the Mechanical Browser, and insertion of parametric form features from the Sheet Metal library.

By the end, you will understand the fundamental building blocks for creating, modifying, and preparing sheet metal models for manufacturing workflows.
