After 8 years, I finally brought the girl I met in the mountains of Guizhou back to my hometown for the Dragon Boat Festival.

Together we cooked traditional food, made zongzi, rescued a little kitten, and spent time with family. Along the way, JiaYi learned local customs, shared stories from Guizhou, and slowly became part of the people and places that shaped my life.

Sometimes love is not about grand promises. It is found in the simple moments of everyday life — cooking together, caring for family, and building a future one small step at a time.

This Dragon Boat Festival became more than a holiday. It became a memory we will never forget.
