āShe Used to be Mineā is from one of my all time favorite musicals, āWaitressā. While I was in New York, my parents and I were able to go see it and I left feeling so inspired. I decided to add āShe Used to be Mineā to our set list for the New York and Boston shows a few hours before we were scheduled to perform, because I felt so drawn to the song and itās message.
This song teaches us that sometimes life doesnāt always turn out the way we planned, or the way we thought we wanted it to. Sometimes life throws us big changes, and they make us question where to go from there. But sometimes, because of the unexpected, life ends up becoming even more beautiful than we could have imagined. How wonderful it is to know that we never stop growing, and that despair neednāt ever feel permanent.
