Here's what we're reacting to TONIGHT:
Chapter 4: Cassian gets pulled in by Mor, who thinks Nesta belongs in the Court of Nightmares. Meanwhile, the King and Queen of Vallahan are refusing to sign the new treaty, political chaos is already brewing.
Chapter 5: Nesta and Cassian head to Windhaven for their FIRST training session. Devlon declares any weapon she touches must be buried. And Nesta? She flat-out REFUSES to train, humiliating Cassian in front of the entire camp.
Chapter 6: Mor has WORDS for Nesta on the ride back. Nesta reports for her first library shift, asks the House of Wind for wine (denied!), and makes her first attempt down those 10,000 steps. The House is already watching her. đź‘€
Chapter 7: Cassian heads to the human lands to meet with Vassa, Jurian, and Lucien: the Band of Exiles. But Eris is also there: several of his soldiers who traveled with Beron went missing, and the ones who came back were... different. Vassa names the culprit: Briallyn, working with the immortal sorcerer Koschei. And Beron has already pledged his forces to her. The threat just got very, very real.
Chapter 8: Nesta tries to escape down the 10,000 steps for a drink, makes it to step 111 before turning back — and Cassian is RIGHT there waiting to roast her about it. She asks Azriel to train her instead of Cassian, but he's being sent to spy on Briallyn. Back to Windhaven they go, and Nesta still won't train. Instead she slips off into the village.
This is enemies-to-lovers tension, family trauma, and world-ending stakes ALL in five chapters. WE ARE READY!
