Derek and Casey fight all the time. At one point, Derek bursts into her room and kisses her. (around 0:14) They end up in a relationship in which they fight and make up, over and over again until they can't take it anymore. (the break up is the end of the first chorus) Five years later, Casey comes to see Derek. He's surprised and walks out the door, only to come back to host his party. Casey's surprised he's partying as much as he his and she goes to talk to him in the bathroom where they end up fighting and kissing again. Derek just thinks it'll be a quick get together of their typical relationship but he soon finds out that she isn't leaving. (around 1:39) He tries to figure out why she's staying, convinced it's not for him. They continue to fight and fight but this time without making up. Derek finally breaks it off again. (around 2:25) Casey sits there and waits for him to call, but they only end up fighting more. Derek finally decides to do something drastic to make Casey realize that they will never work. Casey does realize it and agrees they have to let each other go.
