Mayor Michelle Wu and the Boston Public Library (BPL) host a dedication ceremony for the Shaw-Roxbury BPL Branch in honor of the life and legacy of the late Sarah-Ann Shaw, Boston’s first Black woman TV reporter. Throughout her life, Sarah-Ann Shaw made substantial contributions to the Roxbury community and paved the way for generations of journalists, storytellers, and leaders. Shaw worked at WBZ-TV in Boston from 1969 to 2000 and was a lifelong resident of Roxbury. She passed away in 2024 at the age of 90.
