Shawn Langdon delivered the biggest moment of the 2026 Professional Racers Organization (PRO) preseason test at Gainesville Raceway, ripping off a 3.621-second pass at 341.85 mph — the quickest run ever recorded in drag racing testing.
The milestone run came on pass No. 87 of 102 made Wednesday and reset the early Top Fuel benchmark in the Gainesville pit area ahead of the season-opening national event. While not an official NHRA record, the performance stands as the fastest elapsed time ever achieved in a preseason test session.
Langdon credited the team’s offseason preparation for the breakthrough performance.
“Feels very rewarding,” Langdon said. “Very, very happy for my team, happy for the guys.”
He emphasized the importance of delivering measurable results after months of winter development.
“It's always nice to come out testing in the first couple days and just all the hard work that goes into preparation in the off-season and just give the guys some results and reward for their hard work,” Langdon said.
With one more day of testing remaining, Langdon’s focus now shifts to maintaining momentum heading into race week.
“And I mean, it's a great start,” he said. “So obviously very excited. One more day of testing and then be ready for Gainesville for the national.”
Langdon’s 3.621 placed him ahead of teammate Doug Kalitta (3.668 at 339.45 mph) and Justin Ashley (3.707 at 337.07 mph). Billy Torrence (3.713), Antron Brown (3.724), Shawn Reed (3.753), Tony Schumacher (3.776), Josh Hart (3.811) and Leah Pruett (3.823) rounded out the leading runs as teams refined combinations ahead of the NHRA season opener.
