Sharks and rays have been swimming through the ocean for hundreds of millions of years, but today, nearly one-third of all species are at risk of extinction. These incredible animals play an important role in keeping ocean ecosystems healthy, making their protection more important than ever.
To celebrate, here's a behind-the-scenes look at some of the sharks and rays in our care enjoying a unique form of enrichment! Our Animal Care team fills Hol-ee Roller balls with food, encouraging the animals to use their natural foraging behaviors while providing mental and physical stimulation.
