Ventriloquist, puppeteer and children's entertainer Shari Lewis was easily the most popular guest on several CBC Vancouver television productions which catered to a young audience. Her best known puppets were Lamb Chop, Hush Puppy and Charlie Horse. Shari also was an author, created 17 home videos, was an accomplished musician and conducted major symphony orchestras in Canada, the US and Japan. She strove for perfection in everything she did and will be remembered for her remarkable and hugely successful career. Jackson Davies (The Beachcombers) was a cast member of THE RAES, playing the likeable baffoon studio director, who Robbie likes antagonizing. Married couple Robbie and Cherrill, The Raes disco series was popular with Canadian viewers in the late 1970s, with guests including Abba, Grace Jones, Pat Benetar, Peter Allen, Howie Mandel, Rex Smith and on several occasions, Shari Lewis.
