A global advocate for human rights, climate action, and a just transition, Sharan is the former General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (2010–2022). She currently serves as a Visiting Professor in Practice at the LSE–Grantham Institute, chairs the Just Transition Finance Lab’s Advisory Council, and is Vice-Chair of the European Climate Foundation, among other leadership roles.
