I play a Stradivarius Lightweight 43* bell (Elkhart bell) on a lightweight Bach body first, then a new(ish) bell from Bach, it's a Stradivarius 43B(ronze) bell from what some called 'the Mariachi Strad' - and it's a fantastic bell. Well, they're both very nice. :) While these two bells sound similar, I note a little more highovertones from the lightweight brass bell, a bit smoother, subtly darker tone with the bronze - which is pretty thin bronze. What do you think? Can you tell a difference?
