I wasn't too impressed with the spindle that came with the stock Shapeoko 2 and I initially bought a Dremel 3000 to replace it. The Dremel had all the necessary power but ... 1)I want the Dremel for other things, and 2)Its tapered body makes it difficult to mount securely and square to the table. So I decided to add a trim router because of its pure cylindrical shape but that meant new mounts. Thanks to Matthew at Targ's Workshop I had a starter file to modify to fit my needs.
