On July 26, 2025, Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City festival highlighted the rich creative history of Shanghai with Shanghai Day—a genre-spanning, campus-wide takeover featuring music, dance, film, art, and celebration!
The day featured:
• Stories of the Chinese Zodiac — a magical family concert with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra
• Shanghai City Fair Artisan Market — traditional crafts, fashion, jewelry, and food
• Li Xiaochuan: Jazz from Shanghai + Break Dance Battle — jazz meets hip-hop on The Dance Floor
• Film Screening: The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven — an iconic animated classic
• Arknights Concert — orchestral, rock, and folk music from the global gaming phenomenon
• Silent Disco with DJ DADA — dancing under the stars on Josie Robertson Plaza
