Shane Was Right in The Walking Dead.

“Shane was right”. This debate is unironically one of the biggest in the series with fans believing that Shane to do this day has still left a major impact and was arguably the fastest to adapt to the apocalypse. His ways may have been harsh but he was doing what’s necessary to keep the group safe, to an extent. Which is what we are mainly going to be talking about today. Before dropping my dialogue about Rick Grimes we need to talk about the character who changed Rick from the beginning, and it all started with Shane. “Let me tell you sum man”. Shane Walsh is the former deuteragonist and later an antagonist, as well as a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He was Rick Grimes' partner at the King County Sheriff's Department and his best friend since high school. After the initial outbreak, Shane began to harbor feelings and an obsession for Lori, Rick's wife, and eventually began a sexual relationship with her, conceiving a child. Shane later became one of the leaders of the Atlanta survivor camp and the head of gun training at the Greene family farm. He served as the primary antagonist for all of Season 2. During the first season, Shane acted as the leader to the Atlanta group survivors, a position he clearly enjoyed and carried out strongly until Rick's arrival; he then became the second-in-command through out the rest of the first and second seasons, much to his apparent dismay. He believed himself to be a more deserving man for Lori than Rick, and was determined to fight to keep her and Carl safe at all costs. Shane also showed his potential as a father during Rick's absence and developed an admiration for Carl and treated him as his own son. Shane also viewed himself as being a better father than Rick towards Carl. During the second season, Shane devolved from a good friend and caring person into a cold, cunning and murderous antagonist. He completely shed the concepts of guilt, remorse, and moral correctness in favor of survival for himself and those he cares about by any means necessary. He begins by murdering his own allies, going against the beliefs of the group, and betraying his former best-friend, leading to his eventual demise. Rick Grimes, better known as Rick, is the protagonist and a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead. He is a former sheriff's deputy who was shot in the line of duty and fell into a coma, only to awaken and find himself in the midst of the apocalypse. He travels to Atlanta, Georgia, in search of his wife, Lori, and his son, Carl, who have traveled to Atlanta with his best friend, Shane Walsh. After reuniting with his family, along with discovering a group of survivors, Rick gradually becomes the de-facto leader in their search of a safe haven. He eventually enters a relationship with Michonne Hawthorne and they later conceive a child together. He later becomes the leader of the Alexandria Safe-Zone and one of the four co-leaders of the Militia along with Maggie Rhee, Ezekiel Sutton, and Cyndie before its disbanding. A year and a half after the war against Negan Smith, Rick adopts a more peaceful and democratic way of leadership and tries to accomplish Carl's dream of rebuilding civilization. After blowing up a bridge in order to protect his loved ones and allies, Rick is presumed dead by his beloved comrades. The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror television series based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard together forming the core of The Walking Dead television universe. The series features a large ensemble cast as survivors of a zombie apocalypse trying to stay alive under near-constant threat of attacks from zombies known as "walkers". With the collapse of modern civilization, these survivors must confront other human survivors who have formed groups and communities with their own sets of laws and morals, sometimes leading to open, hostile conflict between them. Andrew Lincoln played the lead character Rick Grimes until his departure in the ninth season. Other long-standing cast members have included Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The Walking Dead is produced by AMC Studios in the state of Georgia, with most filming taking place in the outdoor spaces of Riverwood Studios near Senoia, Georgia. The series was initially adapted from the comic by Frank Darabont, who also served as showrunner for the first season. However, conflicts between Darabont and AMC forced his departure from the series and resulted in multiple lawsuits by Darabont and others. Glen Mazzara, Scott Gimple, and Angela Kang served as subsequent showrunners.
