"Shamanic Visions" - a trippy improvisation for replica ancient Egyptian lyre & loop pedal! The latest in my series of highly experimental projects, this presentation hopefully further demonstrates my musical mission, that the remarkable versatility & exotic timbre of the lyres of antiquity, have a new place in 21st century music & on into the future - rather than remaining forever mute, in some quaint, dusty museum exhibition...
The lyre I am playing, is a replica of the 3,500 year old surviving ancient Egyptian lyre preserved in Leiden, custom made for me by Luthieros:

The loop pedal used, was the Boss RC-1 - the final mix of the impovisation being further enhanced by contemporary studio FX. Bring on the 'New Ancestral' musical revolution!
The ancient Egyptian theme of the improvisation, is the revolutionary shamanic vision of the founder of monotheism - the heretical pharaoh Akhenaten, who along with his Great Royal Wife, Nefertiti, abandoned the worship of the entire pantheon of ancient Egyptian gods, in favour of their one true god; the Aten (the sun disc).
Akhenaten's montheism almost cetainly influenced monotheism as the foundation of Judasim - there are even arguments hypothesized by some, including the author Ahmed Osman in his book, "Moses and Akhenaten: The Secret History of Egypt at the Time of the Exodus", that in fact Moses as depicted in the Old Testament was, in fact, a spiritual representation of Akhenaten. They were one and the same person although the accounting differed in the different texts.
