Full credit goes to Syd_tiger and Khfan1 for their discoveries regarding this very unusual glitch. As Syd_tiger explained it:
"Square H8 or that generall corner is a floor far above the ocean. Most probably a glitch. However. Get on Agro, get as much speed as possibly and at the most south easterly tip of the map jump off and very, very quickly unleash the cloth. You should have enough speed to land on the floor. If not, u will go under it and die. If you actually manage to get on it, use arrows along the edges to guide yourself so you do not fall off, which results in death. I haven't explored the whole square, but going off at the south side results in your being stuck forever and you have to restart the game."
