Shadow Lives
Approximate Film Date: July 1987
This short film marks the beginning of our attempt at some degree of meaningful plot. Clearly, it's inpired by our love of the movies First Blood, Commando, and Red Dawn. "Shadow Lives" follows the story of a group of young survivors who have retreated into the wilderness during an invasion by the Soviet Union. They are forced into a conflict with a team of assassins who try to draw out the group's leaders by capturing one of their companions.
The film is actually assembled from two separate skits that were not initially intended to be together. It wasn't until I sat down and began the re-editing process that I realized how well the two short films could be merged. The original skit ends with the explosive rescue, and the second skit was the cat and mouse chase through the woods with one of the heroes and the leader of the assassins.
It definitely was a marked improvement over our previous videos.
