Created by an ancient civilization to combat another deadly creation, the guardian of the universe himself is tasked to defeat a new brood of evil in the modern day, Gamera takes the fight to a swarm of Gyaos! Will Gamera succeed in guarding the universe? Or will Gyaos be the new dominant species on the planet? Join Gamera as he embarks on a new journey portrayed by the greatest Gamera figure ever, fighting the toughest of enemies to ensure the safety of the universe, uncover the story in S.H. Monsterarts Gamera (1996) Stop Motion!
As stated before the S.H. Monsterarts line is pretty much my favorite toy line and the '96 Gamera design is pretty much the definitive Gamera design in my opinion, and this figure is practically a no-brainer in terms of being my favorite Gamera figure, i've been wanting this figure since it was first announced but never getting around to bought it but i finally got it recently and i dedicate this whole stop motion as our 2023 opening project just to showcase how awesome this figures is. There's no denying the awesomeness that is the Heisei Gamera trilogy, some of the best crafted modern day kaiju movies to date and i want to pay a lot of tribute to not only that but the entire Gamera franchise as a whole, this is the first Gamera-centric content to be featured on the channel and i want to go out my way to pay respects to this unique franchise and the impacts it had on the kaiju genre as a whole, so what better way to do that than pitting Gamera against his arch rival Gyaos! Though Gyaos here is portrayed by their showa incarnation which couldn't stand the sunlight in the debut film, but i had to do a broad daylight setting in order to render Gamera looking good so i apologize for the innacuracies that might be present in the video. With all of that said 2023 marks the year Gamera will be returning so celebrate Gamera as hard as you can and thank you for watching!
