As I was saying, is free will real, or are our lives predetermined by a god/simulation/fate?
Well, obviously, it isn’t. Right? I am a conscious human being. I can choose whether to pick up that pen next to me or not. I can decide to read the rest of this shit or not.
Well, not so fast. Technically, “we” don’t make those decisions. Our brains do.
I decided to start “A Dummie”. Not my heart, not my stomach, but the brain of a (then) 15 year old who has a name most of you can’t pronounce properly. I decided to create a video called “Chess Game”. Not my foot, not my eyes, but the brain of a 16 year old who wants recognition from others. I decide to take in someone under political persecution. Not my liver, not my ears, but the brain of a bored 16 year old.jk
So, our brains do the work, and our bodies do the heavy lifting. So what?
Our brains can be measured, and documented, obviously. It’s a biological entity, and as a result it interacts with the physical world. When we think, our brains just do some chemical shit that I don’t understand.
Look, I take Physics, M2 (basically Advanced Maths), and History at secondary school. If someone here studies biochemistry or anything relevant, please explain it to me. (Actually, Dummie is in Siberia, so instead of talking to him you’ll be talking to me.)
With that in mind, it’s safe to say that with proper tech, we can know what a brain is telling its body to do. Press the Red button. Watch Dummie’s other Saxxy Entry. Blink in front of 173.
In fact, we can do that now. I watched a documentary a while ago, and in the show the host was asked to press a red button.
However, every time he did so, a computer was able to predict his movements several milliseconds before his actions.
This shows that we have to power to predict simple actions. Keep in mind, I watched that show in 2012.
So, it’s safe to say that with enough tech, we can predict actions and see thoughts.
Let’s not get 1984 here and get back on track. The thoughts and actions of a human being, which are supposed to be items that prove our free will, can be predicted. With that in mind, it should be easy to say that we could do the other thing and create a machine that can “think”. Not as in “What is 689*2047”, or “I’m having a short circuit OH GOD PLS HELP”. But as in “looks out the window with a bottle of Jack Daniels” thinking. Credit to Sir Ken Robinson for that metaphor.
It can think. It can think like a human. Certainly, technology will get there. So, does it have a conscious?
I don’t know.
If it has a consciousness, it should easily mean that yes, we are living in one. If a computer code can have ‘free will’ as we do, then by definition, any sufficiently advanced game of The Sims would involve Jack Daniels characters.
Think about it. The original Sims sold 16 million copies. That means that there are 16 million simulated universes. And that’s only the Sims. At this rate, the next Sims might be a crime against humanity. Not that EA seems to care.
But that hypothetical situation has been discussed many, many times. How about the other one?
If consciousness is limited to biology, then no. EA will be committing crimes against humanity for other reasons. We will truly be real in that case.
But, the argument isn’t over if we factor in god.
Some of us are atheists and dont believe in god, but some do. To avoid a shitstorm, I wont go into detail.
So, does ‘god’ over here actually control us, leaving us dangling in
the hands of fate? Or do we have actual free will?
So far, many religions seem to claim that Mr. God does give us free will. But then again, that writing could also be written by someone who thinks that they have free will, but is in fact, controlled.
In short, I have no idea.
Some may see this as a way to show that we should all be pessimistic and be passive/reactive. I disagree entirely.
To simply put it, I don’t care if my life is a simulation. I don’t care if I’m a bunch of 1s and 0s. I will continue to live it as if nothing was different. I will study on and make animations for the audience, aka you.

Title says it all.
In memory of the Great Dummie, who is in a Siberia Gulag.
Part 1
In case you weren’t aware, TF2 was released on the 10th of October, 2007, alongside Portal and Half Life 2: Episode 2, as part of the Orange Box. As of this writing (19/08/2017) there are currently 248 online HL2:E2 players, 598 online Portal players, and 64905 online TF2 players. For a 10 year old game, TF2 is doing really well.
Think about it. Think of another 10 year old game that receives support. COD 4 is also turning 10 this year, but unlike TF2, its glory days are gone. Gone are the days of Boots on the ground, and came space ninjas ripped out of Titanfall. TF2 is also not in it’s heyday, (That would be 2011-2012, according to reddit), but at least the game is still the same. Right?
Not entirely. TF2 in 2007 is different from TF2 in 2017. Very.
We have hats. We have trading. We have the largest in-game economy in an online game. We have weapons. We have maps. We have custom maps. We had Quickplay. We have a matchmaking system that is shit. We have a competitive mode that is also shit. We have dancing.
A TF2 player from 2007 might look at 2017 TF2 and find that their Windows XP, 512 MB RAM, E6700 Intel supercomputer would have a hard time downloading that 19.8GB monster at 500kb/s. But after he/she’s done, they would probably fail to recognize TF2.
Or would they? Unlike Cod, TF2’s core hasn’t changed. There are still 9 classes, whose roles are still similar, and still have access to anything that was available in 2007. The core gameplay hasn’t changed too much.
This brings me to kitty. On the 21st of October, 2017, kitty0706 would have had died for 1000 days. Imagine we now reincarnate this TF2 veteran. What would he feel about TF2? Kitty died on the 27th of January, 2015, before Gun Mettle, before Invasion, before the trainwreck of Meet Your Match, and before the Pyro Update(Which I presume would be out in September).
Really, even during the 3 years that I have played this game (15/10/2014-Today) I have seen TF2 change, for better or for worse. Imagine a TF2 player who fell into a coma in 2007 and woke up today.
All in all, TF2 has changed a lot, and this is both a good thing and a bad thing.
Part 2
Why did we start playing TF2?
Because it was F2P and I wanted to try it out.
Because all my friends were playing it and if I didn’t, they’d leave me in the Fritzl basement.
Because I wanted to buy HL2:E2 and bought the Orange Box.
Because I was hyped for it since 1999.
Many many reasons.
Harder question. Why did we stick with TF2?
Because it’s core gameplay was interesting.
Because it was a lot of dumb fucking fun.
I don’t play TF2 anymore, fuck you.
The above reasons, realistically, won’t keep a game alive for 10 years. So what did?
Unlike most game communities, the TF2 community is where you can give the most contributions.
We have several trading sites, as well as specific trade servers. We have a website designed to bridge TF2’s pubs and competitive. We have a group dedicated to charity. We have communities, where content creators group up for collabs. We have a website designed to allow people to build maps. We have a community dedicated to giving shoutouts to TF2bers/TF2 videos.
We also have fantastic community servers, with brilliant people. I regularly play on Rushy Servers’ California and Australia Zombie servers, and that place, as well as the people there, have given me a lot of fun. I might as well give a shoutout to Jack5 and Acey here, also regulars on the server.

Fact is, without the community, TF2 would have faded into obscurity long ago. The community has turned TF2 into more than a game. It’s a fucking life experience. Unlike other games, like CS:GO, Siege, and Overwatch, I don’t just play a game when I play TF2. I do a whole lot more.
So give yourself some applause, TF2 community, for keeping TF2 alive, and much more than just another dumb shooter in this growing FPS genre.

SCP: Trick or Treat. A trick or treater finds himself trick or treating at the wrong door on Halloween night and engages with a scientist of the SCP Foundation, learning what the SCP Foundation is, the meaning of Secure, Contain, Protect, as well as what they intend to do with the average D-Class.
Im pretty sure SCP-5712 doesnt actually exist and only exists for SCP: Trick or Treat. The fine folks at Door Monster (the creators of the original SCP: Trick or Treat) made it up on the spot for their skit and this SCP animation (so far from SCP canon, put the pitchforks down) doesnt change that. I cant think of any other SCP that is similar to this on the spot though Im sure someone better read on SCPs would be aware. I havent been reading much after Series 4 SCPs.
And as someone whos never gone trick or treating (Hong Kong doesnt lend well to houses or candy for children), Im going to assume this is how things work. Children and children get taken from their houses and recruited as D-Class for the SCP Foundation.
For some reason this video has been tagged as a creepypasta. Is this SFM what counts as a creepypasta these days? That is sad.
Its also been associated with SCP: Secret Lab, which makes a bit more sense since there are models used from SCP: Secret Lab. And SCP: Containment Breach.
And after SCP: Ordinary World, Im quite happy to work with TF2-based models again since theyre easier. Ill see how this video receives and determine my next step. If TF2 SFM models remain a viable option, Ill stick to TF2 models for a future SCP animation series. But if this video fails to gain traction, Ill swap to realistic models for SCP animation in the future.

- This SFM should not have taken 373 hours. My last SCP SFM took 240 hours, and its likely this is the case because I spent a lot of animation time playing Cyberpunk Red in the background. A friend is running a SCP-themed Cyberpunk Red game so yeah. Of course, SCP: Ordinary World also took far more time to animate so theres that.
- After this Im animating a long (25-30 mins) TF2 SFM Ive been planning since 25/09/2017. Expect shorter videos and the If TF2 Was Mixed With Other Games collab in the meantime. As well as a minor SCP series of 6 1-minute SCP-related short films.
-There are many subtle references to my other TF2 and SCP SFMs. See if you can find any. And as usual, no hints.
- The scientists face animations didnt work in SFM properly meaning I had to manually lipsync with no machine assistance. That was annoying.
- My favorite SCPs are still 2639, 3780, 4856, 093, 1861, and 3021.
