In this sewing of the Kennedy hoodie by Style Arc, I take you step-by-step through each stage of the sewing process. I don’t normally use this many pins, but I thought it showed you how each of the pattern pieces come together before they were sewn.
This is my version of the Style Arc Kennedy Hoodie. I have swapped out the original pattern cuffs and waistband with a co-ordinating ribbing that I purchased from Myfabrics.co.uk that works exceptionally well with my chosen fabrics also from Myfabrics.co.uk. I learnt a lot from my first make of this hoodie and decided that I would, when making this hoodie, spend some time reducing the amount of interfacing used to limit bulk in the front of the hoodie, at the base of the front tabs. This worked very well without compromising the finished look and feel of the garment.
This tutorial covers fabric composition, one of my favourite subjects, small changes to the construction, by limiting interfacing and reducing bulk, and swapping fabric cuffs and waistband with co-ordinating ribbing.
The finished hoodie is lovely. I’m so pleased with how it turned out. It’s bright, cheerful and warm!
