Line up so the link's right side of his head is lined up with the edge of the wall. You can be quite a bit to the left and it will still work but I think the window for getting the HESS is smaller

normal hess saves around 5s over walking
you need to have roughly a straight angle in the corner (you will drift slightly to the left) then turn 2 ess frames and pause on one of 2 frames or you can turn 3 ess frames and then pause on one specific frame. The pause timing for 3 ess frames is sooner than the 2 ess frame one. You should pause expecting 3 ess frames then if you get 2 do the angle change unbuffered because you have 2 frames for it")

For the EPG target the door around the middle to right side (pretty lenient). Backup a bit. turn 1 ess frame left. walk forward into door then switch to left.
