A surge of violence in the occupied West Bank left several injured over the weekend after masked Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian home and an NBC News crew in two separate incidents. In the village of Qusra, dozens of settlers besieged a house with seven Palestinian men inside. Despite desperate calls for help, residents claim the Israeli army threw tear gas into the home and handcuffed the Palestinian victims instead of detaining the attackers. In a separate incident in the nearby town of Jalud, masked settlers ambushed an NBC News crew while they were interviewing a Palestinian woman who stated her family had been forced from their home. The attackers leapt from a vehicle, beating the woman and the journalists with sticks and throwing rocks. While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the violence as the work of a "handful of rioters," Israeli authorities have yet to announce any arrests of the settlers involved in either incident.
