Im a CoCo Nut | Setting up the CoCo-Pi - part 10 - PyDriveWire "basics" @ImaCoCoNut | Uploaded September 2021 | Updated October 2024, 6 hours ago.
This video will cover some very simple and "basic" steps on how to load a disk into Michael Furman's PyDriveWire which is running on the CoCo-Pi and use that to load virtual disks into an emulated coco using HDB DOS which "speaks DriveWire" over what's known as the "Becker Port" which is an emulated serial connection.
You will need to make sure the "Becker Port" is turned on, in Machine Configuration by pressing the TAB key to bring up the MAME emulator, and if it wasn't on, toggle it to on, close the menu, then press F3 to reboot the CoCo.
At that point, type in DRIVE # where # is the Disk "slot" you've mounted a disk in via the PyDriveWire Web UI.
Then, DIR and LOAD software as usual.
