A close-up tutorial for setting the stops on the selector shaft of Singer models 401A and 500A sewing machines to the factory specs. The tip of the cam followers should be between .010 to .012 inch or 25 to 28MM from the high point of the lowest disc on the cam stack. Disc or cam #1, which is the zigzag disc. Using a feeler gauge to measure the clearance and adjust the stops is an easy do-it-yourself adjustment.
