From 1995, it's "Take a Bird to Work Day" on Sesame Street. Written by Christopher Cerf and Judy Freudberg, the cast sings about, well, taking their birds to work! Giving the birds in their lives a taste of the working life, you see, so they can decide what to do in their careers. Maria (Sonia Manzano) teams up with a penguin, Gordon (Roscoe Orman) takes Big Bird (Caroll Spinney) to his high school science class, Ruthie (Ruth Buzzi) takes a turkey to Finders Keepers (on her motorcycle!), Mr. Handford (David L. Smyrl) has a chicken at Hooper's Store, Benny Rabbit (Kevin Clash) has trouble communicating with a duck, and Hoots the Owl (Kevin Clash), a working bird, takes himself to work, while Telly Monster (Martin P. Robinson) laments that he's unemployed. Luis (Emilio Delgado) and Gina (Alison Bartlett O'Reilly) sings about their birds, too.
Dig the one live parrot (that must have made for a fun shoot, lol!) next to Maria making a break for it.
Oh, and no sweet clue who the Siegfried and Roy wannabe blonde Muppet is ("Or how to train some fleas!"; 1:02).
Ripped from @Rohail Hashmi's copy of Canadian Sesame Street, Episode 3370 (US Air Date: April 14, 1995). Blocked from uploading the whole thing, I'll try posting the video skits and songs not on YouTube, if I can. I have 20 of the darn things, most of them Canadian content, so wish me luck! Luckily, the street scenes have been posted on Dailymotion (link below).
