Happy 80th, Emilio Delgado! A talented actor in many roles, he's been the Luis to all of our Marias since 1971 :-) From 1978, Luis and a band were plopped down in a city park that looks like an alleyway to get the kids dancing. "Alegria" means "Happiness" in Spanish. I thought this perfectly captured what both Emilio as Luis and the show itself have brought to our lives for so many years. A ray of dazzling sunshine and happiness amid the urban grittiness that is our lives. Happy Birthday and thank you for everything, Emilio!
