Servius Tullius, sixth king of Rome, has a lot of conflicting stories about his background. His mother was a captured Latin princess, his father was maybe a mercenary, or was he a god? So easy to get the two mixed up. Anyway things were business as usual for little baby Rome - Tullius took over more land, and made some political reforms, establishing the census and giving the lower-class plebians the right to vote, but only if the upper classes couldn’t make up their minds. But that was too much for his son-in-law, Tarquin, who made up his mind to kill Tullius, and become king himself.
